Energize launches new crowdfunding opportunity
Energize has launched a new innovative funding scheme for the benefit of those playing and involved in sport in Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin.
In association with national charity Podium Partners, our new crowdfunding website allows Energize to help local young people and people with a disability people of any age to develop their potential, and to be able to support clubs and groups looking for new equipment, facilities to develop their coaches, or whatever they need to support local people with a disability and/or young people to take part in their chosen sport.
As well allowing people who play sport to run a crowdfunding camapign, the site, hosted by Podium Partners, offers the opportunity for local community organisations who want to help more people participate in sports and those participating in sport to promote their campaign on the crowdfunding website enabling them to raise funds by bringing their project to the attention of the wider public and businesses.
Energize are now welcoming campaign applications from local young people and people with a disability of any age who want to progress in sport, or projects looking to help either of these two groups. To view other local campaigns currently live, see the crowdfunding site.
Working with a charity partner allows donations to be eligible for Gift Aid which increases the value of each donation by reclaiming the basic rate of tax on the donation at no extra cost. This could convert every £10 donated to as much as £12.50.
Chris Child, Chief Executive of Energize says “It’s a great new initiative and we have already had a really positive response from people who want to register their campaigns on the site. We would like to have a wide variety of campaigns, from a wide range of sports running on the site all year round and would encourage people to apply to register their campaigns now.”
