An evening workshop is being held in Shropshire later this month to offer help and information for coaching people with disabilities.

The three-hour session is being held at The Guildhall, part of the University Centre Shrewsbury complex, on April 24, starting at 6pm.

Jessica Lightwood, Shropshire inclusion officer for the Inclusively Fit Project, based at Energize Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, said: “We have teamed up with UK Coaching to offer this subsidised session.

“It is a great opportunity for people to learn how to become a more inclusive coach, and gain the knowledge to better support current and future club members.”

It will include a practical element, when delegates get chance to put into practice some of the skills learnt in the first part of the session.

Jessica said: “The workshop will cover basic elements of classifications in disability sport, and explain some of the pathways available for disabled participants.

“There will also be a chance to gain extra knowledge by sharing stories and past experiences with other delegates.”

Tickets for the workshop cost £15, and are available here
