Engaging Activities for Young People with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
2-MINUTE READ
Background
Actio is a partnership between Energize STW and PACC (Shropshire’s Parent Carer Forum) that aims to improve access to quality activities for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in Shropshire. Actio works to expand and enrich the range of activities available, supporting the wellbeing and development of children, young people, and their families.
How Energize Got Involved
Energize joined forces with PACC to address the gap in accessible activities for SEND children and young people. Together, they developed Actio, which includes managing All In Short Breaks — a program funded by Shropshire Council for eligible children up to 18 years old.
What Happened
We recently released a video to showcase the impact of Actio and highlight the activities available through the partnership. This video invites Parent Carers and All-In members to explore the opportunities Actio provides and introduces new activities that families may not yet know about.
The Impact
The video aims to raise awareness and reach more families who could benefit from Actio’s offerings. By promoting this initiative, Energize and PACC hope to connect more SEND children and young people with enriching activities, ultimately enhancing their quality of life and fostering a supportive community across Shropshire.
