Falls prevention in Shropshire
Each year, one in three people over 65 and one in two over 80 experience a fall. Our programmes aim to reduce these risks and support safer, more independent living for older adults.
We’re proud to support Shropshire, Telford, and Wrekin initiatives to reduce falls and improve community safety. In collaboration with the local council, NHS, and partners through the Integrated Falls Prevention Pathway Development Group, we’re working to create a coordinated approach for safer, healthier living across the region.

We deliver evidence-based strength and balance classes for people in Shropshire aged over 60, to help prevent falls.

Who are Elevate classes for?
Elevate classes are aimed at people aged 60 and over who feel a bit unsteady on their feet, have lost strength, or confidence, and may feel a bit off balance or at risk of a fall.

The proven benefits of Elevate classes
Elevate classes reduce the risk of falls by strengthening muscles to improve and maintain posture, coordination, and balance.
Taking part in a class can help boost confidence and maintain independence and balance to live well for longer.

Seated and standing exercises
The exercises include a mix of standing and seated movements in a progressive programme designed to enhance strength, balance, and confidence. Additionally, the programme provides a social aspect, offering participants valuable time to connect with others.
