Our team is made up of those employed by or working with Energize, as well as the volunteers who make up our Board of Trustees.
Pete Ezard
Chief Executive
Pete's role is to lead the organisation, provide a key point of contact for our Board of Trustees and work with Board and team to deliver our 2022 - 27 strategy.
Suzy O'Shea
Head of Engagement
Suzy’s role includes developing and implementing our People Plan to support the whole team and board; leading the digital efficiency project and overseeing all marketing and communications including the #TogetherWeMove movement.
Jess Bradbury
Head of Operations
Jess leads on strategic development within our health and communities systems. She collaborates with partners who share our values and mission to support the health and wellbeing of those in greatest need within our population: Sharing intelligence; working in partnership; and influencing system change.
Harry Cade
Head of Performance and Learning
Harry leads on embedding measurement, evaluation, and learning across Energize, with a focus on equality, diversity, and inclusion. He also oversees our safeguarding and welfare provision and our engagement with schools to promote active lifestyles for young people through positive cultural and policy changes that make activity a daily priority.
Helen Madden
Office Manager
Helen ensures compliance with financial, legal, and governance standards while overseeing office administration, HR, health & safety, and asset procurement.
Christina Morgan
Live Longer Better Manager
Christina manages a team of Postural Stability Instructors delivering Elevate falls-prevention classes; our strength and balance programmes for older adults. She gathers data and insight to inform practice, drive system change, and builds health partner relationships to strengthen referral pathways.
Claire Mansfield
Active Schools Manager
Claire's role is to support schools across the county to engage all their pupils in physical activity. She manages the Creating Active Schools programme, the Active Lives Children and Young People Survey, and other school-based projects and programmes including Opening School Facilities.
Jake Jones
Active Lives Officer
Jake's role is to lead on the planning and organisation of the School Games events for Primary and Secondary Schools across the county. He also works in collaboration with the county Virtual Schools to coordinate additional opportunities linked to sport and physical activity and supports the delivery of other school-based projects and programmes including Opening School Facilities.
Amy Griffiths
Empowering Communities Manager
Amy supports voluntary community sector organisations. She specialises in helping physical activity providers with governance, funding, safeguarding, volunteer recruitment and retention, marketing, and sustainability.
Amy leads our place-based work in Donnington, promoting collaboration to address health inequalities and improve residents' long-term health.
Michelle Pullen
Empowering Communities Manager
Michelle works with voluntary and community sector organisations to strengthen their connections to the health and social care system.
Alongside Amy, Michelle empowers voluntary and community organisations to address the challenges they face when supporting those experiencing the most barriers to being active.
Gemma Britton
Empowering Communities Officer
Gemma's role focuses on #TogetherWeMove – the social movement all about the importance of moving. She finds and supports champions for the movement who will motivate and inspire people in their local communities to get active.
Leah Goode
Sport Welfare Manager
Leah’s role supports national governing bodies of sport and local clubs to develop and embed best practice around welfare and safeguarding. This includes promoting good practice and an inclusive culture of safe sport for children and young people and adults.
Nikita Whitfield
Marketing and Communications Officer
Nikita's role is marketing and communicating the wide variety of work Energize does to influence system change in the local health, education and communities sectors.
Fran Taylor
Freelance Accountant
Fran's role is to make sure that Energize has access to clear, accurate and timely financial information so that they can make best use of their resources in delivering their ambition to eliminate inactivity.
Paul Havenhand
Chair of Trustees
Paul has expertise from commercial and marketing roles in insurance and legal sectors, and is CEO of an insurance business in Gloucestershire. He’s eager to support the Energize team and make a positive impact in local communities.
Linda Collins-Izquierdo
Board member - Welfare & Safety Champion
Linda is a Graduate Registered Nurse with director-level experience on CCG Boards and a background in safeguarding, dementia care, and learning disability services. She has served on a board for St John Ambulance, focusing on service user experience and wellbeing.
Robin Pritchard
Board member and Audit Committee Chair - Finance & Risk Champion
Robin has a background in accountancy and audit, focusing on risk management and assurance. He has served as Chair of Severnside Housing and as a Non-Executive Director at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals Trust.
Kal Parkash
Board member and Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Champion
Kal's working life has very much been about public service, having worked in the Ministry of Defence, Local Authority, Policing, NHS, and now St John Ambulance as the national Head of Culture and Inclusion.
Victoria Sugden
Board member and People Champion
Victoria is passionate about helping those who struggle to access physical activities. She aims to support Energize to eliminate barriers—financial, emotional, and physical—to encourage everyone to get involved and enjoy the benefits of movement. With experience in healthcare charities, she recognises the importance of being active for overall wellbeing.
Liza Freudmann
Board member
Liza helps businesses develop and communicate their sustainability plans, driven by her passion for how organisations can positively impact the world. As a marketeer, she brings experience of engaging individuals and communities to drive meaningful change.
Sarah Evans
Board member
Sarah is active in the local community and first connected with Energize when her sports club received support. She provides her experience working with young people, and as a roller derby team coach, to benefit Energize's development.
Fiona Jones
Board member
Fiona's background includes the delivery of new hospital projects and complex chnage management. A keen tennis player, she is currently Chair of Tennis Shropshire and believes strongly that physical activity should be accessible to everyone whatever their age, ability, disability or other personal circumstances.
