2-MINUTE READ
Training success
Energize STW recently supported Parkinson’s UK to deliver specialist training for physical activity providers in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin. Over two days, four face-to-face events and one online session took place, with 60 attendees gaining valuable insight into supporting participants living with Parkinson’s.
Expert-Led Learning and Practical Application
The sessions were delivered by Nic Sherratt and Lauren Mulligan from Parkinson’s UK, alongside Rob Francis from Move Mojo.
Attendees explored how to design physical activity for people living with Parkinson’s, understanding how exercise can complement medication and learning how to develop movement programmes tailored to different abilities.
Move Mojo brought a practical element to the training, reinforcing their philosophy that no one should be excluded from exercise and improving their health. A key part of their delivery included three fundamental movement patterns - lunge, squat, and hinge - showcasing adaptable exercises to suit varying abilities.
