Our Evaluation and Learning partner

Over the last few months, FH Associates, has worked closely with Energize STW and partners working in Telford & Wrekin. 

FH Associates have supported by:

• Using their expertise to provide evaluation and learning advice, guidance and support. 
• Focusing on building local partners evaluation and learning capability and capacity including providing to develop skills and understanding. 
• Working with us and our partners strategically, providing quality assurance and strategic direction to develop methods and measures to track progress and impact. 

Whilst many evaluation project rely on external consultants to collect information and write reports, the approach we have adopted with FH Associates is different. We want local organisations and community partners to develop the skills and confidence to gather information, learn from it and use it to make decisions. This helps to ensure sustainability and develop skill sets locally within Telford and Wrekin to support long-term change. 

In June, FH Associates delivered 'How and Why' conversation training and Realist Ripple Effects Mapping workshops for 25 partners across Telford and Wrekin. The 'How and Why' approach helps partners have meaningful conversations with people in their communities to understand their experiences and needs. The Realist Ripple Effects Mapping workshop helped partners identify and record the events and outcomes they are seeing from work to reduce physical inactivity across the borough. 

By building these skills locally, partners can better understand the difference their work is making, from each other and make informed decisions about future activities.
